LVF Update: Coordinate Of The Month and New Contest!

So December is coming fast! The lovely snows, Christmas carols, and warm winter fires will be starting. But what about LVF? Want to make this blog space a little prettier? Then submit a coordinate to be featured for December's Coordinate of the Month spot! The theme for this month should be something related to the holidays and winter - so have as much fun and be as elegant as possible!

Next on the list is the next Contest that will be coming up in celebration of the 1 Year Anniversary of La Vida Frills! This contest will rely more on the movie side of things. The question, what to you is your frilliest favorite movie of all time? And no, it can't be Kamikaze Girls! Give a quick one sentence answer, and the winner will be announced on December 24th, just before Christmas! What will be the prizes? You'll have to wait and see - Let's just say, you'll really enjoy it. Unfortunately, all previous winners can't win this contest (Sorry!) and it's US residences only!

So, post away and have fun - You never know, you might win!

  2. Ever After is my favourite frilly movie - because that moment where Danielle sweeps into the ball in that exquisite gown, when she thought she'd never be able to go, is so beautiful - and that moment when the stepmother rips a wing off her and crushes all her dreams is simply heart-rending. <3

  3. Deleted my last post so I could expand on my thoughts! :D

I think The Little Princess is one of the most lolita movies because it's about overcoming odds to pursue a beautifal life and mentality.

  4. my frilliest movie? it hasn't come out yet, but the black swan. it's an INTENSE movie about ballet, and it's a little creepy. it's coming out in december, but i know i'll love it.
i think ballet is really delicate and sweet, like lolita, so ithink it counts :)

  5. In my opinion, the best and "frilliest" movie is Kirsten Dunst's "Marie Antoinette."
Although not technically Lolita, the extravagantly feminine pastel Rococo fashions and coquettish attitudes are the true root of Lolita, and in the movie they are accompanied by modern alternative music, partying, and drama- like the Japanese subculture.
    Lolita forever!

  6. For me my favorite frilly movie is The Addams Family movie XD Specifically for the scenes at the dance they throw. When I was little I used to love watching that part and looking at all the fancy dresses people were wearing in the background. And what Gothic Lolita wouldn't love to live in a dusty and mysterious old mansion?

  7. My favorite frilly movie is Labyrinth. It may not be lolita specific, but it's so magical and adorable and I still think it's a lolita favorite none the less. And I love Sarah's poofy sparkly princess ballgown! Yay princess-ness ^_^

  8. My most recent frilly movie obsession is Enchanted. From the gorgeous animation at the beginning to all the amazing dresses she wears later in the film. Giselle truly looks and acts the part of the princess even when she's surrounded by mundane everyday things and unfavorable situations. And really, who wouldn't love to be able to make dresses like that out of curtains in an hour's time?

  9. I really had to think about this one, but I finally decided.
My most cherished movie of all time is BBC's Pride & Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth). I relate so much to Elizabeth. When I dress in Lolita I feel closer to the elegant settings, the delicious language, and lovely fashion. Perhaps that is why I gravitate towards the empire waist dresses. I could rave about this movie for hours. I've seen it so many times I've long since lost count.
